Responsible Friends

Responsible friends don’t chain best friends in the yard like criminal prisoners. A family pet deserves to be affectionately trained and lovingly treated as a family member. It is a crime when strangers at the Humane Society provide a better environment for a neglected animal than its owner did.

Recently I met a lady at the Humane Society who was there to actually choose a dog to chain in the back yard. I talked her out of it. As an excuse for chaining the dog was that her grandmother is allergic to pet fur. Isn’t there enough suffering in Payson without bringing more suffering on innocent animals? If you cannot properly provide for a best friend, then don’t do anything at all. Please don’t make matters worse.
