We moved to Star Valley 3 years ago when my husband retired from the Army Proving Ground in Yuma. This was his dream place to spend the rest of his life.
He did just that. He died eight weeks ago after 18 months of battle with cancer. After three years we can still be considered newcomers in the community. But my husband and I found good friends at the Moose Lodge 852, where he became a member and great brothers and sisters in Christ at Shiloh Christian Fellowship, where we worshiped.
I never expected and imagined the love and support my son and I received from these people during the time of our loss. We would like to express our sincere appreciation for the community that embraced us even though we were new. Thank you to all the people that organized and supported the benefit dinner at the Moose Lodge last March 13.
