Most forest roads above the Mogollon Rim on the Coconino National Forest closed for the winter are now open, Forest Service officials said Tuesday.
Many of those roads have sufficiently dried off to safely reopen; however, many secondary or side roads remain closed due to muddy conditions. Forest visitors are asked to comply with barricaded and gated roads to avoid road damage.
Forest roads re-opened on Mogollon Rim District include:
The Rim Road, from Highway 87 to the forest boundary, 211, 141, 147, 149, 144, 142, 616, 81, 229, 305, 95 to East Clear Creek and 751 to Blue Ridge/Cragin Reservoir.
Additional forest roads will be re-opened as conditions allow. For updates on road conditions, check the Coconino National Forest website: www.coconinoforest.us. Navigate to “Current Conditions” and then to “Current District Info,” or contact a Coconino National Forest Office.
