Free tax preparation and free electronic filing is now available from AARP volunteers in Payson.
The free service is provided to low- and moderate-income taxpayers, with special attention to those age 60 and older. It is available through April 15 at the following locations and times:
• Payson Elks Lodge, at the southwest corner of Airport Road and Beeline Highway — Monday, 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Gila Community College, Mud Springs Road — Thursday, April 7, 14, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Tax filers need to bring: a picture ID, Social Security card for all persons claimed on the return, last year’s tax return, 2010 tax documents and proof of real estate taxes actually paid in 2010.
No appointments will be taken.
