Good 2 Go

Greg Day, who owns and operates Macky’s Grill with his wife Cari, has been diagnosed with a serious illness and is facing major surgery and catastrophic medical costs.

A number of fund-raising events are planned in the next few days to help the family with their medical expenses.

An account has been created by Kiwanis for the family at National Bank of Arizona; contributions can be made to it directly.

Upcoming events for the fund are planned at Macky’s.

At Macky’s, special green bracelets featuring Greg’s name on the outside, and the Day Family, inside are available for purchase for a good will donation.

On April 9, a special patio event is planned from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. All sales made on the patio will go to the Day Medical Fund.

Enjoy pulled pork, cole slaw, chips and a drink for $8, along with raffles, games and face painting.

Plus take advantage of a special $3 screening of the animated movie “Rango” at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 9 and Sunday, April 10 at the Sawmill Theatres.

Entertainment on the patio will include John and Lu Carpino from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Junction 87 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.; Anything Goes from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.; Dr. Jass and the Heartbeats from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.; and Karaoke with Steve Stevens from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Macky’s is being assisted in this special event by Shamrock Foods, SYSCO Foods, Elk Ridge Distributors and Pepsi.
