Tai Chi and Qigong

Tai Chi and Qigong classes are offered at 9 a.m. Saturdays at Rim Country Health (in the Retirement Apartments complex), 807 W. Longhorn Road. 

The program is especially designed for seniors 50 or older, but is beneficial for all ages.

Bridge results

Winners at Tuesday Bridge Club for April 5 were Frances Schwartz, first; Kay Hutchinson, second; Rosie Tharp, third.

Play is at 12:30 p.m. every Tuesday at Rim Country Health and Retirement Community. Area residents and guest are welcome.

Photography and Camera Club

The Rim Country Photography and Camera Club will have a guest speaker at its monthly meeting Monday, April 11. James Bruner, a local professional photographer, will speak on photographing music rock bands. Anyone interested in concert photography or in the music aspect of modern rock bands is invited to attend. There is no charge.

The meeting is open to the public. The club meets in the activity room at the Rim Country Health and Retirement Center, 807 W. Longhorn Road. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. For more information, call Harold Rush at (928) 474-9673.

Democratic Women of Rim Country

The Democratic Women of Rim Country will meet Tuesday, April 12 at Tiny’s Restaurant — 11:30 a.m. for fellowship and to order lunch, noon for meeting. Alice Stambaugh of the League of Women Voters of Metro Phoenix will be speaking about redistricting.

Payson Womans Club meets April 12

The Payson Womans Club, the oldest service club in Payson, holds general membership meetings at 1 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at the Payson Womans Club building, 510 W. Main St. Membership is open to local women ages 18 and up.

Payson Masonic Lodge meets Tuesday

Payson Masonic Lodge #70 F&AM meets every second Tuesday of the month. Dinner for members, their families and guests is at 5:30 p.m. with the meeting at 7 p.m. All members of the fraternity are invited to attend the meetings.

Join the Gila County Sheriff’s Posse

The Gila County Sheriff’s Posse is looking for new members.

The Posse was founded back in 1967 as a volunteer group to serve the Sheriff and the people of Gila County. The Posse is called on for many emergencies such as forest fires, floods and snow.

Meetings are held at 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at the Gila County Sheriff’s Posse building, located just north of Main Street on McLane Road. The public is invited.

Bereaved parents support group

The Compassionate Friends offers hope, reassurance and a safe place to talk about our children with others who understand the pain of losing a child. Anyone who has lost a child (or grandchild) at any time, at any age is welcome to attend.

The group meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at 102 W. Roundup, Suite D.
