Forest Service firefighting crews performed mop-up work Sunday morning following the fire that started on Saturday, April 2 on the north side of Highway 260 between Overgaard and Clay Springs.
The warm temperatures we have had this week is forecasted to be turning cold this weekend with a possibility of snow Saturday and into Saturday night. Temperatures will be in the 30s to a low of 20 Saturday night.
A fire broke out between Overgaard and Clay Springs on the north side of State Highway 260 Saturday, April 2.
The fire was isolated to an area of less than five acres very quickly. U.S. Forest Service officials were unavailable for comment on this incident.
The Ponderosa Lions Club is hosting its annual Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 23 at the Navajo County’s Tall Timbers Park.
The Easter egg hunt will start at 10:30 a.m. and the coloring contest judging will start at 11 a.m.
There will be two winners for each age group of 0-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10 and 11-12. There will be hot dogs and refreshments served by the Lions Club. A table will be set up for face painting. Coloring contest entries are available at Capps Middle School, Mountain Meadows Primary School, and the Rim Community Library.
