We all have options. Whether they are exactly what we want or not, we have them. The Humane Society of Central Arizona has wonderful options for you when it comes to adopting a new companion. We have an array of cats in different sizes, colors and personalities. We have an awesome selection of dogs that love to run and play, and dogs that are easygoing and already trained. Whatever type of dog or cat companion you are looking for, likely we have it.
This week, I’m featuring three cats and three dogs that have different personalities, colors and sizes. These are just a few of the adorable adoptables we have right now. Just like people are unique and special in their own way, so are all of our adoptable animals. Finding your perfect match is something we strive to do. Come down and let us show you around and we’ll do our best to find the perfect match for you. The shelter is located at 812 S. McLane Road; hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 7 days a week.
Every year, thousands of animals are euthanized. You can help bring these numbers down by spaying/neutering your pets and by adopting or rescuing.
Please go to your local shelter first when you are ready to add a new companion to your life. You’d be surprised how many shelters end up with purebreds or the dog or cat that meets your every desire. If they don’t have what you’re looking for, I bet they can give you some information on how to get in touch with another shelter or rescue group that may.
All shelters and rescue groups are working hard to find their adoptables a forever home. Please, think adoption and rescue first; don’t buy from a pet store. A rescued pet is the best pet. If you have a rescue dog or cat, then you know how true it is.
Don’t forget the upcoming Low Cost Rabies Clinic that’s taking place next weekend on Saturday, April 16. The clinic will be going on from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Main Street Animal Clinic, located at 411 W. Main St. Rabies vaccines are available for just $10. Licensing is required at the time of vaccine. Please call (928) 474-9292 for more information. Cash only please.
Candy Cane is a 6-month-old, beautiful little green-eyed gray tabby. She is petite and won’t get to be very big. She is an affectionate little girl who likes to help you clean and sweep by sitting on your shoulder. She is very neat and clean and really loves to play with toys. She would do best in a home with older kids, or no children at all, just because she can be scared easily. She is spayed, current on her vaccines and waiting for you to come see her.
Charlie, a 2-year-old neutered male, is a shelter favorite. He has gorgeous copper eyes that go well with his orange tabby coat. He is 16 pounds of pure love. He is front declawed and gets along with everyone. He is used to living with a single person but will be happy in any home he can call his own. Neutered, current on shots and waiting to find his forever home.
Molly, or as we like to call her, Molly Moo, is a 4-year-old black kitty. She is all four paw declawed, spayed and current on her shots. Molly is the type of girl who likes things on her terms, including love and affection. She is very loving and likes to show it by rubbing on you and laying in your lap. She can be a little temperamental, but what cat isn’t, right?
Jake is an outgoing bundle of fun. He is 4 years old and still has energy like a pup. He does know when to calm down and be mellow, though. He loves to play in the water and with other dogs. He is obedient, house and leash trained and does well with children. Jake is the type of dog who would love to hike in the woods or go swimming at the fishin’ hole. He is neutered and current on his vaccines.
Isis is another staff favorite. She is intelligent, athletic and eager to please. This girl LOVES to play ball! She likes to play in the water and gets along with some dogs. She is strong and will need an experienced pet owner to come along and fall in love with her. Just look at that face, though, it isn’t hard. Isis is your girl if you love to be outdoors doing something fun. She is spayed and up to date on her shots.
Zoe is an all around fun loving girl. She is social with everyone, including children. She would love to be your walking or jogging partner. She is house and leash trained and will make a wonderful addition to a loving family. She is just the right size if you’re looking for a dog that’s not too big. She has an abundance of love to share and wants to share some with you. She too is current on vaccinations and spayed.
