Turn New Station Over To Hellsgate Fire Department

Imagine the surprise on everyone’s face when the big story of the new fire station was (printed) in Friday’s Roundup! Now that it is completed, there is no funding for men or equipment to operate this $1.5 million monument?

I got an idea when I read this startling news: Why not turn it over to Hellsgate Fire Department rent-free? In exchange, the Hellsgate firefighters can agree to fight the  Chaparral Pines and Rim Club fires for free.

This would give new facilities to Hellsgate, only three minutes from where they are now, and there would be no further expenditures by the Town of Payson to operate it.

Might even save some embarrassment for those who insisted on going ahead with this venture.
