Co-Founder Of Petsmart Speaker At Business Awards

Organizers of the fifth annual Rim Country Business Awards announced they have booked Michael Manson, co-founder of PetSmart and Motor Excellence, as the event’s guest speaker.

Manson will speak May 19 at the awards luncheon at the First Church of the Nazarene, 200 E. Tyler Parkway.

Organizers will also reveal the winners of this year’s business awards.

A panel of judges recently narrowed down a field 24 nominees to nine finalists.

Businesses were judged on their business excellence. The judging was very competitive, with all nominees providing extensive background information, said the Rim Country Regional Chamber of Commerce.

• Tonto Community Concert Association

The business awards are sponsored by KC’s Home Health Care, APS and the Payson Alliance. The Rim Country Regional Chamber of Commerce, Northern Gila County Economic Development Corporation, and the Town of Payson — Tourism, Parks and Recreation developed the event.

Award winners will be announced at the annual Business Awards luncheon, catered by Gerardo’s Firewood Cafe.

The Jim Young Business Person of the Year and the Pat Willis Business Excellence Award will also be handed out.

Tables of seven for the luncheon are $175, and individual seats are $25.
