The Tonto Community Concert Association presents Paul McDermand in a performace at 7 p.m., Friday, April 15 at the Payson High School auditorium. The noted percussionist has made several appearances in Payson through the TCCA. If available, single ticket prices are $30 per person and will be for sale 30 minutes before curtain.

Register for GED testing by noon Wednesday, April 13

Space is available for GED testing on Saturday, April 16. Anyone wishing to take the test must pre-register at 719 S. Beeline Highway, Payson, by noon on Wednesday, April 13.

The cost is $70 for the complete test. Retakes are $10 per subject.

Future dates for testing in the 2011 spring semester are: May 21 and June 18.

Soccer benefit

The Payson High School Boys and Girls Soccer program will have an Italian Dinner Benefit from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday, April 13 at Payson Elementary School.

Tickets are $7 per person or $25 for a family of five.

There will be spaghetti, baked ziti, rolls and pizza prepared by Gerardo’s Firewood Café.

GCC open house

The Payson campus of Gila Community College will have an open house at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 13 for parents and prospective students to tour the campus, learn about registration, financial aid and courses of study available.

Complimentary pizza and beverages will be served.

Book discussion in Pine

The Pine Public Library will be holding a book discussion on this year’s “One Book AZ” selection Hopi Summer by Carolyn O’Bagy Davis at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 14 inside the library. Refreshments will be served. Copies are available at the library.  Any questions, call the library at (928) 476-3678.
