A low-cost rabies vaccination clinic will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 16 at the Main Street Animal Clinic, 411 W. Main St., Payson. Rabies vaccinations will be available for cash only. Dog owners may also purchase licenses for their animals at the event. Payson fees for unaltered animals is $20, for those that are spayed/ neutered the fee is $7. Star Valley fees are $7 for unaltered animals and $5 for altered. County fees are $15 for unaltered and $7 for altered. Pets brought to the clinic must be secured at all times. For more information, call (928) 474-9292.

Gila County latex paint and computer recycling/disposal

The Buckhead Mesa Landfill will coordinate a latex paint recycle day from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 16.

Bring in leftover latex paint for disposal or recycling to the landfill. All unusable paint will be properly disposed of; the good paint will be bulked and distributed. Only latex paint will be accepted at this event. 

To dispose of other painting supplies: pop the lid and let oil paints and varnishes dry to a hard substance, as a solid they may be disposed of in small quantities with household trash (adding kitty litter will advance the drying).

This is also a great time to drop off your old computers, monitors and printers at the landfill for recycling.

Easter Fest Saturday

The Payson Woman’s Club annual Easter Fest will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, April 16 at the Payson Woman’s Club, 510 W. Main St.

The money raised will benefit charities in the Payson area, such as the Food Bank, Rim Country Literacy Program, the Time-Out Shelter, children who have suffered trauma and seniors in need.

Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a suggested donation of $5.

Home-baked items will be available all day, along with home-sewn items, crafts, and a silent auction. Raffle tickets will be sold on a beautiful quilt and several other items.

Arts, crafts spring sale

The Mogollon Health Alliance will be having an Arts and Crafts Sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, April 16 at the Mogollon Health Alliance Activity Center (next to the Almost New Thrift Shop).

Stop by to see the many unique handcrafted items for Easter and Mother’s Day including bird feeders, afghans, baby blankets, baby bibs, Levi purses, Kleenex box covers, Easter baskets, aprons, jewelry, dog blankets, scarves, pillows, hats, catnip toys, dish cloths, pot holders, tote bags, pajamas, cloth books and much more.

All proceeds benefit the many programs, scholarships, and grants offered to the Rim Country by the Mogollon Health Alliance. For more information, call (928) 472-2588.

See’s Candy sale

See’s Candy will be for sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 16 at both Bashas’ and Safeway. There are wonderful chocolates and gift items ready for Easter, April 24.
