“His experience is impressive and the hospital is very fortunate to land another staff member with such great credentials,” said Chris Wolf, PRMC chief executive officer.

Most recently, Elzein was the medical technologist technical supervisor and interim director at Arizona Regional Medical Center in Mesa and Apache Junction, where he was recognized for his team building, training, communication skills and outstanding lab direction.

His background also includes more than 15 years of problem solving in scientific laboratory and health care environment. While at Biosense International, he developed and patented a method for rapid bacterial detection.

“I’m impressed with the hospital’s lab and the highly educated, efficient and professional technologists and technicians,” said Elzein.

“They dedicate extraordinary amounts of time and effort to support quality and assure that results are accurate,” he said.

The hospital laboratory is an integral part of the hospital and patient care services, according to Elzein. He said there are distinct advantages of also choosing the hospital lab for outpatient tests.

“Our ability to correlate with previous results or with physician clinical information adds a layer of analysis to our internal efforts with accuracy.

“Plus, the hospital lab is Joint Commission-accredited, which demonstrates our commitment to the highest level of care for our patients,” he said.

PRMC earned The Joint Commission’s (TJC) Gold Seal of Approval™ for accreditation by demonstrating compliance with The Joint Commission’s national standards for health care quality and safety in laboratories. PRMC voluntarily seeks accreditation for its laboratory services as well as overall hospital accreditation.

The lab accreditation award recognizes PRMC’s dedication to continuous compliance with The Joint Commission’s state-of-the-art standards.

PRMC voluntarily undergoes The Joint Commission accreditation process, which involves extensive, unannounced surveys every two years.
