Rob Jarvis Selected As Interim Fire Chief

Hello again, fellow Creekers.

There are some changes at your Christopher-Kohl’s Fire Department. The board elected recently to replace Fire Chief Electra VanEckhoutte. The interim chief will be Rob Jarvis. I will provide more information as I get it.

At long last I have some news on the Landmark, which is now going to be named “The Landmark at Christopher Creek.” And this time, my source is the owner herself. Cindi, the co-owner of the Landmark (along with her husband Gary), sent me an e-mail last week telling me that they are getting very close to opening the Landmark.

I believe their goal is to open before Memorial Day. She also wanted me to get the word out that they are now hiring for all positions. So, if you or someone you know is a reliable, hard worker, Cindi may be interested. She asked for anyone interested to please inquire or send their resume to:

In keeping with the commerce theme, I’m not sure if you’ve noticed or not, but there are two new beautiful billboards for the Christopher Creek Lodge. One is in Star Valley and the other one is in Heber-Overgaard. The goal is to help increase business for everyone.

We want to try and support two restaurants, the expanded and improved Tall Pines Market with rentals, the fully staffed ERA real estate office and both the Christopher Creek Lodge and Grey Hackle Lodge. Our goal is that all of this translates into a better, safer and more stable community for everyone to enjoy.

As a reminder, I would really like to profile more of the folks that live right here in Christopher Creek. I have met a lot of really terrific people with some unique stories. You can pick up a “Better know your neighbor” questionnaire at the Creekside Restaurant to fill out.

As always, I do need your help with content and stories! For anyone wanting to submit information from the Christopher Creek area for inclusion in our weekly article, please e-mail me at: Any submitted pictures must be full-size (typically around 1MB per picture). The cutoff time for inclusion in Friday’s article is close of business on Monday.

Thanks again for reading the column.
