Calling all ladies

Come to one of Fancy Flair of Red’s luncheon meetings and see for yourself. Good company and door prizes await you — but most of all FUN!

Radio Control enthusiasts

People interested in RC cars and trucks — either parking lot racing or off road — are being sought to form a club. It’s good, clean fun for all ages. Call Tony if interested, (928) 970-1131.

Special Healing Service

Shepherd of the Pines Lutheran Church, 507 W. Wade Lane, Payson, will have a special service of Wholeness and Healing at 6 p.m., Wednesday, April 27.

NARFE meeting

The Mogollon Chapter 1235 of the National Association of Active and Retired Federal Employees will hold its monthly no-host luncheon and meeting Wednesday, April 27 starting at 11:30 a.m. and ending at 1:30 p.m. The meeting will be at Tiny’s Restaurant on Highway 260.

This month, the featured speaker will be Buzz Walker from the Payson Water Department.

Rim Country Optimist Club

The Rim Country Optimist Club (Friends of Youth) works in a variety of ways to help youth in the community through fund-raising events, activities and financial support.

Each month, the board meeting is held at 5:30 p.m., the second Wednesday for dinner. The general meeting is held on the fourth Wednesday, with dinner at 5:30 p.m., with a speaker usually following at 6 p.m. Both meetings are held at the Crosswinds Restaurant at the Payson Airport.

The next meeting is at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 27 and the speaker will be Casey O’Brien, superintendant of the Payson Unified School District. He will be speaking about what is in the future for the district. There will also be a surprise! All visitors are welcome.

Rim Country Cowboy Church

The Rim Country Cowboy Church meets at 6 p.m. every Wednesday at Star Valley Baptist Church, 4180 E. Highway 260, Star Valley. The service includes live music by the Country Gospel Misfits. For more information, call (928) 474-5557

Blended families program April 27

Ponderosa Baptist Church will host a discussion on “Blended families: Tough Topics” at 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 27. There will be a question and answer session with several blended families trying to do life God’s way.

The discussion will include: the real life challenges that come along with being a blended family and practical solutions from families who have been there.

The meeting is free of charge.

Ponderosa Men’s Breakfast

Another fabulous “Breakfast for a Buck” will be served at Ponderosa Baptist Church, 1800 N. Beeline Highway, at 8 a.m., Saturday, April 30. Note that for this meeting only, the breakfast is not on the first Saturday of the month.

The featured speaker will be Bryan Miller, who will share about his Christian faith and his extra enthusiasm for evangelism.

American Legion Riders to meet Saturday

The American Legion Riders’ final meeting before the Fifth Annual Charity Fun Run to benefit Payson Supply Line will be held at Tiny’s Restaurant Saturday, April 30.

Breakfast is at 9:15 a.m., with a business meeting to follow at 10 a.m.

All members are requested to attend, as this will be the last opportunity to make final preparations for the May 7 run.

Donations should be collected and final nominations for Bead Stops will be accepted.

Let’s all celebrate Red Hat Day!

Come join us at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 30 at the Senior Center on Main Street. There will be a wonderful lunch, topped off with great door prizes and fun with all your sisters.

Elks jam session

The Payson Elks Lodge 2154 will hold a jam session from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, April 30. The public is welcome to this event.

The Payson Elks Lodge is located at 1206 N. Beeline Highway.

High Country Garden Club

The May 5 meeting of High Country Garden Club will be held at 7 p.m. at First Southern Baptist Church.

The program features Ray Adams giving a talk on Cat’s Claw and Bill Roehr speaking on Bio-Diverse Planting, which attracts beneficial insects to your garden. These topics are of special interest to Rim Country gardeners.

Everyone interested is welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served.

Time Out board meeting set for May 10

Time Out’s annual board meeting is at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 10 at the Payson Public Library on McLane Road. The public is invited. Light refreshments will be served.

Gospel Kids Club

The Gospel Kids Club meets from 3:30 p.m. to 5:p.m., Friday, May 6 at Uptown Espresso.

The non-denominational group is for those 7 and older; parents are welcome. There are Bible stories, games, activities and refreshments.
