Cenpatico Advisory Council
Cenpatico’s Peer and Family Advisory Council will meet from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday, April 26 at the Payson Senior Citizen Center, 514 W. Main St.
The meeting is for peers, family members and any person who is receiving services at any Cenpatico provider agency. It is an opportunity to get answers and evaluate the program and help it to better serve its clients.

GCC governing board meets
The next meeting of the Gila Community College governing board is at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 26 with a video hookup between the Payson campus and Globe site where the meeting will be held.
Deadline to register for fall prevention program
Falls and the resulting injuries for people over 65 are a reality and the risk for falls can be reduced.
Come spend two hours and find out about these risks and some ways to reduce them at a fall prevention program.
KCs Home Health Care, LLC and Good Samaritan-Majestic Rim are organizing the presentation and fall assessment to help analyze fall risks and identify ways to reduce these risks.
The presentation is from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday, April 28 at Good Samaritan-Majestic Rim, 310 E Tyler Parkway in Payson. Space is limited, so please call (928) 474-3912 to register by April 26.
Payson Community Kids
The Payson Community Kids has received its building permit for its new facility on South Tonto Street (right behind the previous site of Marcy’s House). The participants, volunteers, staff and board invites the community to a Groundbreaking Barbecue from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 26.
Those attending should park at the First Southern Baptist Church or the Rim Country Middle School.

Navajo Taco Dinner
The students in the fourth- and-fifth grade at Payson Community Christian School are raising money for a trip to Sea World.
They will have a Navajo Taco Dinner from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Thursday, April 28 at the school, located on the grounds of the First Southern Baptist Church at the corner of West Bonita, Ash and South Colcord Streets in Payson.
Tickets are $6 per person and will get the bearer a Navajo Taco dinner and beverage.
The children will be traveling to Sea World May 16 and returning May 18.

PUSD Gifted and Talented Showcase at RCMS
Students in the Payson Unified School District’s gifted and talented program will present a showcase from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 28 at the Rim Country Middle School cafeteria
There will be student performances, displays and hands on activities.
Gosar visits Payson
First Congressional District Congressman Paul Gosar will be speaking at the Thursday, April 28 Payson Tea Party meeting at Tiny’s Family Restaurant. The program is from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Gosar will share his experience as a freshman in the U.S. House of Representatives. Time will be provided for questions and comments. All are welcome. ‘Up The Down Staircase’
Payson High School Longhorn Theatre will present the play “Up the Down Staircase” at 7 p.m., Thursday, April 28; 4 p.m., Friday, April 29; and 7 p.m., Saturday, April 30, and then again at 4 p.m., Friday, May 6 and 7 p.m., Saturday, May 7.
Admission is $6 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens.

Hear ‘The Lorax’ for Earth Day
In a joint celebration of Earth Day/Arbor Day, East West Exchange, Parker & Sons Excavating and Plant Fair Nursery will present a reading of Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, April 29 at East West Exchange, 100 N. Tonto St., Payson.
The reading will be presented by local arborist David Mikulak.
Refreshments will be served and children will be given a seed or sapling to take home following a demonstration on proper planting. The children will also be given written instructions.
Local musical artists at Glendale event
Local artist Tessa Karrys will be playing at 6 p.m., Friday, April 29 with Landon Shill & the Real McCoys, another local group. They will be opening for George Thorogood at the Big Red Rib and Music Festival at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale. Landon and Tessa will also be playing an acoustic show at 8 p.m., Saturday, April 30 at Kohl’s Ranch, located east of Payson off of Highway 260
