Nearly 40 firefighters were battling a 26-acre forest fire off the Young Road Monday.
The human-caused blaze is 80 percent contained to the south slope of Colcord Mountain, the Pleasant Valley Ranger District reports.
The fire started Saturday afternoon four miles in on Forest Road 411 in the forest. This is the first fire of the year for the district. Three engine crews and a 20-person Hotshot crew stopped the spread of the 411 Fire quickly and have it contained.
How the fire started remains under investigation and officials have no idea who started it.
Two wildfires are burning in the White Mountains, another fire was reported in the Flagstaff area.
