Pete and Jan Hold have been crazy about cars since they were teens.
This 1957 green and white Chevy is the most recent addition to their collection. The couple bought it in January 2006.
It was a new car, but had some paint problems, Pete said. So he had the paint redone, put in power steering and a tilt column.
He said it took about a year to get it ready for the show circuit.
The Holds have been collecting cars for about 11 years. The first one they bought was a 1934 Ford sedan, which they still have.
Over the years they have bought about 20 collector cars and sold a few of them. The cars have taken them to about 90 shows throughout Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Nevada and California. The Holds have even gone to Detroit, Mich. for a show. It was a General Motors anniversary show and they took a 1956 station wagon.
Hold displays about 20 of his trophies in his shop at home. “I’m not a trophy hound. I go to have fun and see old friends,” he said.
The Holds have been members of the Rim Country Classic Auto Club since 1995.
