The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag warning today, Friday, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. for most of Arizona, including Tonto and Coconino National Forests in northern Arizona.
A Red Flag warning means, "Don't have a campfire."
The weather service issues a warning when strong winds and low relative humidity are present because there is an increased potential for large fire growth.
Campers are advised to refrain from having a campfire until the warning expires, which is usually after sundown when winds subside.
