Expect Lane Restrictions And Delays On Hwy. 188 Next Week

The Arizona Department of Transportation will close lanes on a 10-mile segment of Highway 188 between Punkin Center and Highway 87 from Monday, May 2 through Wednesday, May 4 as maintenance crews apply rejuvenating oil to protect and preserve the pavement.

Crews will work on three to four miles of the highway each day and apply the oil to both sides of the roadway. Traffic will be restricted to one lane through the work zone. Flaggers and a pilot car will direct traffic in alternating directions using the single lane that is open. Drivers can expect delays of 10 to 15 minutes.

ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
