Many Fun Events Planned For Month Of May

Hello again, fellow Creekers.

Well with the weather getting nicer it is time to get out there a start having some fun events. Kind of hard to believe we had about 6 inches of snow just a couple weeks ago. Looks like the first part of May is not just Cinco de Mayo, but also Cinco de Mucho!

Judy Bradley was kind enough to provide the following details about a couple of upcoming events here in the Creek. Lynda St. John will be opening at 7 p.m., May 6 at the Creekside Restaurant — and she always puts on a great show. Please tell your friends and show up to this fun event.

Also, one more reminder about the second annual Chili Cook-Off and Kentucky Derby Party at the Creekside Steakhouse, which is also Saturday, May 7 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Bring a chili for the cook-off and taste them all for free; don’t bring a chili and taste them all for just $3.

Bring your chili in a crockpot by 2 p.m. and please bring your own ladle and toppings for your chili. Judging will take place throughout the day with winner announced right after the derby.

There will also be a fun Kentucky Derby pool. Buy a horse for $2 and win cash if he wins! Horses will be sold until race time or until all horses are sold. Creekside will have food and drink specials, including mint juleps.

To reserve your spot in the chili cook-off, or if you have questions, call Kelly at (928) 478-0003.

Also the third annual Spring Fling is May 8 and Lynda St. John will again be entertaining folks. The Spring Fling will be at Wheeler’s Park at Paula’s house and starts 4 p.m. Please bring your own drink and also a dish to pass around (potluck). Also, please bring a $5 donation. Everyone is invited!

As always, I do need your help with content and stories! For anyone wanting to submit information from the Christopher Creek area for inclusion in our weekly article, please e-mail me at: Any submitted pictures must be full-size (typically around 1MB per picture). The cutoff time for inclusion in Friday’s article is close of business on Monday.

Thanks again for reading the column.
