For an unlucky 47 homes, the power cut out for several hours Wednesday night as crews worked to fix an equipment failure.
For the majority of Payson residents, however, the power only flickered off for a moment.
APS officials say a transformer failure led to the outage at 8:45 p.m.
The power remained off for less than a minute in most areas, while a section in and around Forest Park was without power for 3.5 hours, said Mikel Cole, energy delivery manager with APS.
Cole said a transformer failure took out a fuse, which tripped a feeder. It took crews several hours to repair the equipment and get everyone back online.
