Pitbulls Can Be Gentle, Loving Pets

Editor:

Now I have read two different letters concerning pitbull dogs and they were both negative. That is why I am writing this letter.

My family has pitbulls as pets for at least 10 years and they have all been gentle and loving pets. They are only aggressive if they have been trained to do so or are neglected or abused in any way.

Yes, they do growl and bark if approached by a stranger, but when we show the dog that this person is OK to be allowed in the house, she becomes very gentle.

Our Zoey is very gentle and loving with our 3-1/2-year-old great-granddaughter and allows her to climb all over her.

So not all pitbulls are dangerous. The ones you hear about have been trained that way.

Give them a chance. They make wonderful pets.

Why do you think the Little Rascals pet happened to be a pitbull? They are obedient (when raised to be) and only want to please their masters.
