Are tablets (including iPad and other models) out to take over the world? Well, it seems that they are, whether they want to or not.
Recent popularity of the tablets has really opened the door for a ubiquitous showing of these “smartphones on steroids.” Soon, there will probably be some form of tablet in every household. Let’s take a look at why.
Productivity on the go
The world is getting busier every day, and we’re constantly looking for ways to make things easier. Many professionals are visiting customers in the field, and they need mobile technology options. Tablets make it easy for them to read and sign documents, and check e-mail on the fly.
Families are also on the go more often. Vacations across the country or even just Sunday drives to Grandma’s house go much more smoothly when the kids have access to games, movies, and other media on the fly. Tablets are the perfect portable entertainment device.
Big time players
One of the biggest indicators that tells whether something is here to stay or not is who’s involved.
Two of the biggest players in the tablet market are Apple and Google ... and they are heavily invested. Those two companies don’t often invest in things that don’t make gazillions of dollars, so it’s a pretty good bet that tablets are only going to get better from here on out.
And the stakes are high — 53.5 million tablets will ship this year alone. There’s a big chunk of people willing to buy tablets, so that means there is a lot of competition to woo the consumer. That’s good news for you and me.
User (and wallet) friendly
One of the things that continues to improve almost every day is the usability of tablets. Apple operating systems once monopolized the market, but Android systems are making a huge push to the top. That means greater compatibility with your PC, if that’s what you’re looking for.
All the competition also means that prices are dropping quickly. You can find a great tablet for less than $300, and prices will most likely continue to drop.
We’re here to help
There are a lot of benefits to owning and using a tablet. But there are also some things to be aware of. As you become more mobile, so does your data. It’s more important than ever to keep your data from walking off in the hands of some cyber-crook. It’s crucial that you set up the property security features on your networks to prevent that from happening.
If you’ve recently purchased a tablet, or plan to in the near future, give the Computer Guys USA a call at (928) 468-0000. We’ll help you secure and backup your data so you can enjoy your newfound freedom in peace.
