A 64-61 win over the homestanding Winslow Bulldogs coupled with a 3-1 tournament record lifted the Longhorn boys basketball team to a third place finish in the Cake Chevrolet Shootout.
In the tournament contested Dec. 2 and Dec. 3 in Winslow, the Horns easily dispatched of Tuba City, 57-37, and Ganado, 75-56, before falling, 75-60, to eventual tournament champion Snowflake.
With the loss, the Horns fell into the Shootout bronze medal game where PHS slipped past Winslow in a nip and tuck nail-biter.
With the win over Winslow, the Horns improved their season record to 5-1.
The Horns return to action today, Dec. 6 in Mingus. Varsity game time vs. the Marauders is 7 p.m.
