Thanks To All Those Who Helped With Electric Light Parade

Last weekend was the Electric Light Parade. What a spectacular event it was. As a coordinator, you count on so many people to all come together to make an event successful. This was another one of our events that everyone stepped up to the plate yet again and despite the weather challenges worked hard to make this event in my opinion the best parade ever.

I’d like to acknowledge and thank those who helped us put on a great event. I’ll apologize in advance, I’m certain to forget someone. This is in no particular order …

Thank you to …

Chili’s was the title sponsor this year. They have stepped up for us a number of times this year.

Our VIPs Tommie Martin, county supervisor; Mayor Kenny Evans; council members, Su Connell, Michael Hughes, Ed Blair and Rick Croy. You have difficult jobs and thank you for all you do for the town.

Clifford Pirch for being our grand marshal.

Chapman Auto supplied the gorgeous trucks for the VIPs. Chapman is always the first in line to help us out.

The Payson Police Department. Chief Don Engler and his staff and volunteer officers, they are always willing to help out; LaRon Garrett for being a marshal and his crew in the streets department for taking care of the route, and having a very cool float. Parks department crew for getting our floats ready for the parade. Fire department for bringing their festive fire truck.

Announcers Eddie Armer and Payson Sound’s Michael Rose.

Judges Doc Holiday, Becky Rhodes from Chili’s and Mike Clark, superintendent, Pine Strawberry Elementary School.

A special thanks to all the volunteers, John Stanton, Brian and Laura Tollefson, John and Maria Wakelin, Nick McMullen, Cathy Boone and Judy Smith, we all know that a successful event of this size doesn’t happen without great volunteers. We literally couldn’t do it without you. You’re the best.

Santa and the Missus, you remind us to “Keep the twinkle in your eyes and remember the true meaning of the holiday season all year long

And most importantly, to all who participated in the parade. Thank you for going the extra mile and lighting up Main Street!

A big thank you from the Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department! Have a great holiday season! Looking forward to next year!

Deb Rose,

special events coordinator,

Town of Payson Parks, Recreation & Tourism Department
