The Payson Choral Society will present its annual Christmas concert at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 17 at the Payson High School Auditorium. Advance tickets are $8 and may be purchased from Choral Society members and at the Rim Country Regional Chamber of Commerce and at the Payson Public Library. At the door, tickets will be $10. Children and students up to age 18 are admitted free.

JRE Book Fair

Now throuogh Dec. 15, Julia Randall Elementary School is having a book fair at its library.

Shop between 7:15 a.m. and 4 p.m. There is something for everyone of all ages. All proceeds will be used to buy new books for the school.

PEC Parent Resource Night

Payson Education Center, an accredited alternative high school, would like to invite the public to attend “Parent Resource Night” on Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 6 p.m.  

The topic for this hour-long presentation is “Dealing With Life Stressors.” Andrea Mascio, LAMFT, will be the guest speaker.  Light refreshments will be served.

Gingerbread house decorating event is Dec. 13

The congregation of Crossroads Foursquare Church, 114 E. Cedar Lane, invites everyone to the 6th Annual Gingerbread House Decoration Party at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 13.

Bring family and friends and decorate a large gingerbread house with all kinds of creative ingredients. The fee is $10 per house. Space is limited, so call (928) 474-2602 today to reserve a spot.

At the Senior Circle

The Senior Circle, 215 N. Beeline Highway, will host Pastor Lynn Richie and Steve Christensen from Messinger Payson Funeral Home at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 14. they will be discussing Contingency Day Planning for Senior Circle members. 

Financial planning and making end of life arrangements ahead of time can be the most thoughtful thing one can do for loved ones left behind.

Chamber Mixer

The last Rim Country Chamber Mixer of 2011 is at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 14 at the Good Samaritan Majestic Rim on Tyler Parkway. It will be hosted by the Good Samaritan Lutheran Society, The Caring Presence, and will feature a wine tasting by The Beverage Place.

Door prizes are needed for the event. Donations for the Payson Food Bank will be accepted.

Tea Party hosts Allen

Arizona State Senator Sylvia Allen will be the guest speaker at the Payson Tea Party meeting on Thursday, Dec. 15.

The Payson Tea Party meets at Tiny’s Family Restaurant, 600 E. Highway 260, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. 

Sen. Allen will provide updates on forest issues, border issues, redistricting and general legislative issues.
