What is your degree?
I received my B.S. from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. I took my teacher education courses through the University of Phoenix and received my master’s degree in elementary education from Northern Arizona University.
Why do you teach?
I love letting students experience all kinds of music through listening, creating, and watching performances.

I have three adult children, one grandson, two dogs and one cat.
What’s your pet peeve?
Rude, grouchy or lazy people.
Your favorite activity?
I enjoy playing the piano, reading, working in my yard, and spending time with my family.
Why teach in Payson?
I moved here in 1992 to be near my parents. I’ve stayed because I love the sense of community and the natural beauty.
Favorite teacher?
Mr. Dutton, my high school choir teacher. He made choir fun while expecting the best.
Favorite subject in school?
I loved math. It was fun for me.
What family influences brought you to where you are?
My parents encouraged my education and my musical training. My sister is a music teacher and professional musician in Missouri.
