Churches Offer Variety Of Christmas Services

Rim Country churches are offering a wide variety of Christmas services beginning next week.

Calvary Chapel Payson

Church services for Christmas include the Children’s Christmas Program at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 21; a Christmas Eve Service at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 24; and one service for Christmas Day at 10:30 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 25.

Church of the Holy Nativity

Those who wish to welcome the newborn baby Jesus in a rich, historical and traditional way, the congregation of the Church of the Holy Nativity is issuing an invitation for neighbors and visitors to join it for its traditional Christmas Eve Solemn High Mass at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 24.

The invitation is extended for it Christmas Day High Mass at 10 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 25.

The church is located at 1414 N. Easy Street (at the corner of Easy Street and Bradley Drive).

Guests are also encouraged to help with the church’s food drive for Rim Country food banks by bringing cans or package goods to the masses.

First Baptist Church in Pine

The First Baptist Church in Pine will hold two Christmas Eve Services: one is from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and the second is from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Christmas Eve, Saturday, Dec. 24 at the church at 4039 N. Highway 87 in Pine.

The Christmas Day service is at 10:30 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 25. There will be a worship service only, no Bible study or evening services.

Mountain Bible Church

Mountain Bible Church, 302 E. Rancho Road, Payson, will have Candlelight Christmas Eve Services at 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 24.

This is a wonderful, family event with a petting ranch, fire pits, caroling, food, favorite Christmas music and a great Christmas message, church officials said.

The event is open to the public and all are invited to participate and celebrate the birth of the Savior.

Payson First Church of the Nazarene

Beginning Sunday, Dec. 18, Payson First Church of the Nazarene, 200 E. Tyler Parkway, is changing its Sunday morning worship service from two services to one, which will be held at 9:30 a.m.

The church’s Children’s Ministry will present on Dec. 18 a special drama, Bethlehem or Bust. It is a play about the animals caught up in the first “Bethlehem Star” competition. In it, Ned, a narcissistic camel, believes it’s all about him, and he and his friends indulge in self-centeredness until the Christ child humbles them.

No admission will be charged for this event.

Rock of Ages Lutheran Church 

The Rock of Ages Lutheran Church, 204 W. Airport Road (on the corner of McLane and Airport Roads), Payson, will have its Children’s Christmas Eve Service at 6 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 24.

The Christmas Day Service with Communion will be at 9 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 25. The New Year’s Day Service will be at 9 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 1.

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1000 N. Easy Street, at the corner of Sherwood and Easy, Payson, will have a family service with Holy Eucharist at 7 p.m., Christmas Eve, Saturday, Dec. 24 and a midnight service with Holy Eucharist at 11 p.m., Christmas Eve, Saturday, Dec. 24. Services with Holy Eucharist will be at 10 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 25.

Shepherd of the

Pines Lutheran Church

Shepherd of the Pines Lutheran Church, 507 W. Wade Lane, will celebrate Christmas with two special services. A Christmas Eve candlelight service will be held at 6 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 24.

The theme will be “Hark the Glad Sound.”

The Christmas Day service is at 9 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 25. Holy Communion will be served. The theme will be “What Child is This?”

The New Year’s Eve service is at 6 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 31. Holy Communion will be served. The theme will be “What’s your Resolution?”
