Search Of Payson, Globe Jails Finds No Drugs Or Contraband

Recent searches of both the Payson and Globe jails found no drugs or contraband in either, reports the Gila County Sheriff’s Office.

On Dec. 7, two sheriff’s deputies and one K-9 searched the Payson jail and found no smuggled goods, said Gila County Sheriff John Armer.

On Dec. 13, six deputies accompanied by 24 detention staffers and four K-9s searched the central jail in Globe, and after more than an hour, Armer reported no drugs were found. Armer thanked the officers that participated and assisted in the sweep of both detention facilities. “Special thanks to all the detention staff that daily efforts ensure a safe environment for staff and inmates alike,” he said.
