A million Christmas lights have joined the rugged red rocks in Sedona to keep people in the holiday spirit for one more week.
For the 21st year, people from around Arizona have created holiday light displays to benefit charities, and light up the Red Rock sky. But hurry, the show ends New Year’s Eve.
This year’s Red Rock Fantasy light display features a million lights twinkling on 28 displays at Los Abrigados Resort. Visitors to the event can cast a vote for their favorite display. Last year’s winner is also on display, but eligible for the grand prize this year.
The creative light displays bring cartoon favorites to life, illuminate a nativity scene and honor the men and women in the armed services — all with a dazzling array of Christmas lights.
The event, which has been going on since mid-November, ends Dec. 31. Viewing starts at 5 p.m. and lasts until 10 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors, $2 for children ages 4-12 and is complimentary for children under 4.
All those touring the lights will get a ballot containing a route map, which will allow them to choose five favorite displays.
