Rim Country residents who would like to be considered for a spot on the county’s Redistricting Advisory Committee have until 5 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 22 to submit an application.
The application forms, along with the guidelines are available at the office of District One Supervisor Tommie Martin, 610 E. Highway 260, Payson or can be found online at www.gilacountyaz.gov under the “elections” listing.
There will also be a Gila County redistricting public information meeting at 6 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 10 at the conference room of the District One Board of Supervisor’s office, 610 E. Highway 260.
This is an opportunity for citizens to learn more about the redistricting process.
The application process requires a letter that must include: why the individual wishes to be considered for the committee; what their qualifications are; what expertise they would bring to the committee; and any additional personal information the individual would like the supervisors to consider in the selection process.
“I would suggest applicants include letters of support from other residents for their appointment,” Martin said.
“I get to name three people to this committee and the more support they can show the better,” she said.
