Aglow International to host Hennings

Pastor Mark and Lora Henning will be sharing their testimonies at the Aglow Valentine-themed gathering from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Feb. 12 at Crossroads Church, 114 E. Cedar Lane, Payson.

They have been in Payson since 1991 and have been formidable leaders in all aspects of church ministry. They served as youth pastors at Payson First Assembly for 12 years and are now currently serving on the staff of the Payson Living Word Bible Church, where the Lord has recently reestablished them in the ministry dear to their heart — the youth of our community.

Men are invited to attend this month’s gathering.

Light refreshments will be available.

See’s Candy at new site

Soroptimist International of Zane Grey Country’s See’s Candy can now be found at Payson Tax Services, 1008 N. Beeline Highway — just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Soroptimists will also be selling See’s Candies at Bashas’ and Safeway from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 12 and Feb. 13. This is a fund-raising project for the club.

Organizations that benefit from Soroptimist are Time Out, Inc., Payson Community Kids, Arizonans for Children and Rim Country Literacy Program. Proceeds also are used for the financial awards offered by the club each year.

The Bookstore and More will no longer be carrying the candy.

Payson Elks Lodge Valentine’s Day Party

Saturday, Feb. 12 is the Elks Lodge Valentine’s Day Party. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. On the menu is Herm’s Famous Ham, with Marilyn’s scalloped potatoes, applesauce, and dessert. Junction 87 entertains from 6:30 to 9:30.

Mark your calendars now! Tickets are $12 per person and are available at the Lodge, 1206 N. Beeline Highway.

Payson Art League meeting Feb. 15

The Payson Art League will host bronze sculptor Gail at its Feb. 15 meeting.

After a brief overview of the process of creating a bronze sculpture from beginning armature to final patina and mounting, as well as “pointing up”(enlarging), the artist will be open for questions about the process or other areas of this art form.

The Payson Art League’s monthly meeting, held at the Rim Country Health & Retirement Community, 807 W. Longhorn Road, begins at 6:30 p.m. with social time and show and share session, followed by a business meeting and presentation at 7 p.m.

The public is welcome.

Change for Tonto Basin Lutheran Church

Tonto Basin Lutheran Church has changed its worship service time. Sunday worship service will be held at 2 p.m. instead of 9 a.m.

Overeaters Anonymous

Payson Raconteurs open to new members

Payson Raconteurs, a society of Payson-area writers, meets at 6 p.m. every Monday in a private dining room at Tiny’s Family Restaurant, 600 E. Highway 260 in Payson.

At each meeting, members read — for critique — from their works-in-progress. In addition to such readings, brief assignments are given each week, for those who wish to participate, with the reading of assignments often resulting in hilarity.

Manifesting Abundance Group
