Hello again, fellow Creekers.

On Saturday, Feb. 5, Ray and Joy Ruetz celebrated their 50 years of marriage. A gathering in their honor was held at Christopher Creek Bible Fellowship.

They were married in Japan where they spent several years as missionaries. They have five terrific children — four sons and one daughter.

Family and friends had a great time sharing food, memories, photos and a special game in which their daughter, Amy, asked questions of each of them (like a newlywed game) but much better!

Pat Guevara said “they are very special people loved and appreciated by many.”

Two members of the Christopher Kohl’s Fire Department have recently completed advanced training to benefit both Christopher Kohl’s Fire and the surrounding communities. Nick Fitch completed the Peoria Regional Battalion Chiefs Academy and the Command and Control class at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Md.

Rob Jarvis completed the training program management class at the National Fire Academy and the Chaplains Academy and Peer Support. Rob would like to ensure that peer support and chaplaincy services are available to all emergency responders in the area and to develop a small interagency team. Rob is also the new public relations officer. Rob’s e-mail is: rjarvis@ckfd.org.

One more quick reminder that the next CKFD board meeting will be this Monday, Feb. 14 at 6 p.m.

As always, I do need your help with content and stories! For anyone wanting to submit information from the Christopher Creek area for inclusion in our weekly article, please e-mail me at: info@christophercreeklodge.com. Any submitted pictures must be full-size (typically around 1MB per picture). The cutoff time for inclusion in Friday’s article is close of business on Monday.

Thanks again for reading the column.
