Shelter Has Many Sweethearts To Share Your Life

Will You Be Mine?

by Joan Steik

Fresh from the water bowl

or was it the toilet this time!

Big wet kisses… Will you be mine?

Roses are red, violets are blue,

I’m leaving muddy paw prints… just for you!

I’m cute and I’m cuddly most of the time,

I give “Big Hugs” to friends of mine,

And my “Big Heart” beats with a special chime

Best Friends Are Forever…

Will you be My Valentine?

From Your Dog

Gifts of a Lifetime

Author Unknown

If you give a dog a bone,

will he still remain or roam?

Or will he bury it deep in the ground

in the backyard of your home?

Will he measure it in size

or size it up as a gift?

Could he ever offer you something in return,

showing just how he can give?

Would it be too much to accept a box

shaped of a heart?

Could you appreciate the card message that

comes with every bark?

Or does it seem to come with nature to enjoy

an afternoon,

to run and toss, more balls get lost, but both

of you still seem to move...

His gift to you is nothing new, but you always

seem to take...

So, what did you get? Warm furry memories

with another passing day.

Ah, Valentine’s Day. That romantic day filled with flowers, cards and candy; the excitement of a secret admirer, or the joy of spending time with your lover.

The dogs and cats here at the Humane Society of Central Arizona don’t have anyone special to look forward to spending February 14th with. Unless, of course, you are treating yourself to a Valentine’s Day gift and are considering adopting a new companion.

If you don’t have a special someone to share Valentine’s Day with, maybe a new companion is a good idea. Gifting an animal for Valentine’s Day may not be a good idea, so keep in mind we do have gift certificates for any occasion.

Of course, we always encourage anyone planning on adopting to be ready and able to care for a new pet before making the decision. If you are ready, we’ve got some sweethearts who would love to cuddle with you and be your Romeo, or Juliet.

Come meet them at the shelter, located at 812 S. McLane Road, or visit us online at For more information, give us a call at (928) 474-5590.
