Special Thursday worship service
Shepherd of the Pines Lutheran Church, 507 W. Wade Lane, will have a special worship service at 6 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 6 to celebrate the Epiphany of our Lord. The theme will be, “They’re Still Wise Men.”

College tips program
The GEAR UP grant and the Payson High School guidance office are inviting everyone to attend a special program at 7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 6: Welcome to College - Now How Am I Going to Pay For It?
Believe it or not, the freshman year of high school is the perfect time to start a college financial plan. Experts will be addressing graduation requirements, college entrance requirements and an entire range of financial options available to help pay for college education at the PHS auditorium.

Benefit supper
The Community Presbyterian Child Learning Center is sponsoring a delicious sausage casserole with vegetable, dinner roll, dessert and beverage for just $5. The benefit supper is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 7 at 800 W. Main St.
Guests may dine in or take out. Call (928) 474-4637 for more information. Proceeds go toward the children’s activities fund.
First Friday
The first 2011 First Friday festivities are from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, Jan. 7 on historic Main Street in Payson.
Many merchants and organizations will be open late to welcome visitors with special treats, entertainment and deals.
