PHS teacher receives statewide award
Payson High School science teacher Beverly Adams earned a runner-up Golden Bell award from the Arizona School Boards Association in December.
Adams won for her East Verde River Study Project. For the last five years, Adams, her ecology class students and students from other science disciplines have performed real-world, professional-level water quality and flow testing along the East Verde River, school officials said. They have recorded the impact of grazing, gardening, recreation and septic tanks on the East Verde. Data also provide reliable information about conditions that will affect delivery of Blue Ridge Reservoir water via the East Verde and a pipeline.
