Shocked By Doubled Cost For Water On Vacant Lot In Strawberry

Editor:

I am in shock with my new water bill for a vacant lot and our home. My meter rate on our vacant lot doubled from $19.85/mo. to $38.74 with no water usage! Our home water bill nearly doubled too!

I called the PSWID office and talked to the district manager, Danny. He asked how much did my trucking bill compare to this bill. Hey, Danny! Strawberry has never had a truck hauler since I can remember! All he said was sorry ma’am. Sorry doesn’t cut it. This is unacceptable to me as a resident, especially in this economy!

I then instructed the PSWID to remove the meter from my vacant lot.

Customer service politely informed me that it would cost us $3,400 to have it reinstalled! Again, shocker! They are certainly discouraging growth now, which some people want, but to put it to us like this is unreal.

I trusted the new PSWID board and I explicitly remember them promising the residents that our rate would not go up! I am livid, and I owe that guy that was trying to warn us all a huge apology.

I am so disappointed in the PSWID. This is unreal. I told the district manager there needs to be a jar of Vaseline delivered to each meter owner. This is pure Rim Country robbery if I ever saw it.

Then there’s this existing extra charge on our property taxes for the PSWID.

Get that off my property taxes, now!
