The Humane Society of Central Arizona has much to be grateful for as we enter 2011.
Even though these are very difficult economic times with operations donations down more than 50 percent from prior years the generosity of time and resources from countless friends of the animals we serve have made it possible to provide them compassionate care and shelter.
Through broken water lines, power outages, roof leaks, ice storms, blistering heat, and unprecedented numbers of animals needing care, the dilapidated facilities were held together and the animals cared for because of the efforts and dedication of the citizens of Payson, surrounding communities, and throughout the state. Compassion, kindness, and generosity of spirit and resources are qualities we see again and again in those who love animals.
Among the many who have made a difference for the animals who share our journey are the hundreds of “official” volunteers who routinely step up and step in, as well as individuals, businesses and organizations too numerous to mention who have seen a specific need and responded with repairs, maintenance, equipment, materials, supplies, dog food, cat food, kitty litter, blankets, beds, leashes, collars, veterinary assistance, and myriad in-kind donations. Even though we cannot mention each of you here, we are sure that you know who you are by the warmth of your heart and the goodness of your actions.
On behalf of the animals, we extend our deepest thanks and our wishes to each of you for a beautiful 2011.
