Unity Fellowship forms

A Unity group is forming in Payson, and organizers extend a warm welcome to anyone interested.

There is a Friday evening study of Emilie Cady’s Lessons in Truth from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Call (928) 478-6906 for location information.

The group’s first weekly evening Unity spiritual gathering will be held from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 13 at the Majestic Mountain Inn on Highway 260, Payson. The gathering will be preceded with social time from 3 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and followed by another from 4:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Unity ordained minister Meghan Smith of Unity of the White Mountains in Show Low will lead the program.

Payson Fly Casters Club/TU

The Payson Fly Casters Club/TU Chapter 530 will hold its next meeting at 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 29 at Tiny’s Restaurant. The meeting will follow breakfast at 8 a.m.

Tai Chi and Qigong

Tai Chi and Qigong classes are offered at 9 a.m. Saturdays at the Rim Country Health and Retirement Community, 807 W. Longhorn Road.

The program is especially designed for seniors 50 or older, but is beneficial for all ages. There is no charge, but donations are accepted.

Rim Country Healing Rooms

Rim Country Healing Rooms now meet from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturdays at Uptown Espresso, 612 N. Beeline Highway.

“Bethel Home Church” is now just “Bethel” and meets at Uptown Espresso, 612 N. Beeline Highway.

Payson Center for Spiritual Awareness

Payson Center for Spiritual Awareness will have a sharing circle at 11 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 30. Wes Ruth will facilitate.

The theme of this sharing circle is the celebration of the promise of spring. All are warmly invited. During this celebration, vegetarian finger food, cookies and cupcakes are most welcome offerings.

Polish Friends will meet at 11 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 30 at Tiny’s Restaurant. A discussion of Polish topics and current events will take place.

Republican Club to meet Monday at Tiny’s

Rim Country Republican Club meets Monday, Jan. 31 at Tiny’s Restaurant. Mayor Kenny Evans will speak on the ASU Payson Campus and Tom Loeffler will speak on Gila Community College independence.

Eat and socialize at 11 a.m., business meeting 11:30 a.m., speakers at 12 p.m. All are welcome.

CAC requests public protest at GCC meeting

Members of the Citizens Awareness Committee will attend a live broadcast of the Gila County Community College board meeting to be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 31 at the Payson campus. The meeting was originally scheduled for Jan. 27.

At this meeting, Bob Ashford, board chairman, will initiate a vote to do away with rules that were established for the GGC board to follow. Included in these rules are term limits that would not allow Ashford to run for board chairman at this time. With his majority board members from Globe, it is expected for this motion to pass. 

Rim Country citizens are asked to attend this board meeting to protest during the public input period.

Overeaters Anonymous

Overeaters Anonymous meets from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays at the Rim Country Health & Retirement Community, 807 W. Longhorn Road, Payson. (After turning in driveway, turn right at first driveway. OA meets in the Community Room in the center of the facility’s apartment complex.)

Manifesting Abundance Group

The Manifesting Abundance Group meets at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Payson Center for Spiritual Awareness, 107 W. Wade Lane.

The group will focus and intend for all sorts of abundance — physical and emotional well being, joy in relationships, true love and financial security. Join and learn how to create what you desire.
