More than 1,000 bras were donated from the local Soroptimist club to the project called “Free The Girls,” in Mozambique, Africa.
This is part of a rehabilitation and training program for women and girls who have been rescued out of slavery. We are so grateful to the groups and individuals who helped with this project. Quilting Sisters even gave a discount to customers, bringing bras. American Legion Tonto Rim Post 69, Payson Athletic, Mogollon Health Association, Time Out, Inc., Senior Circle, Payson Regional Medical Center, Pine/Strawberry Thrift Store and the women of the Moose Lodge were all instrumental in making this activity a success! We are so grateful to all of you.
If we have missed anybody, I am sorry. Our project chairperson, Leilani Damon, did a fabulous job as well as our club members, of course! Thank you very much for all your support (and bras, too).
