Rim Junior Rodeo Riders Earn Honors


The Arizona Junior Rodeo Association 2010-2011 season has wrapped up and six Rim Country cowboys and cowgirls are celebrating hard-earned all-around honors.

Among the 9-10-year-old girls, Brylee Hall finished third with 500 points. Her sister, Bryndee, was fourth with 459.50 points.

In the 9-12 boys division, Pine cowboy Bryce Stodghill took fourth racking up 175 points.

Tonto Basin’s Arena Haught posted 209.50 points and was third in the 5-8-year-old girls all-around standings.

Jessi James of Payson missed several of the junior rodeos while performing on the high school circuit but managed a 13th place finish among the 16-18 girls.

In the 13-15 girls division, Chelsie Stodghill of Pine carded 461 points and was fourth.

In individual event standings, Bryndee Hall captured the 9-12 pole bending season championship with 157.5 points, Brylee was fifth with 99.50 points.

In the 9-12 goat tying, Brylee was second behind Gilbert’s Blythe Besears.

Brylee and Bryndee also finished third and seventh respectively in the 9-12 breakaway and were third and eighth in the barrel racing.

Among Chelsie Stodghill’s accomplishments were a fourth in barrel racing, fifth in pole bending, eighth in goat tying and 17th in team roping.

Her younger brother Bryce was fourth in team roping, seventh in ribbon roping and sixth in double mugging.

Arena Haught’s best showing was an 11th place finish in barrel racing. She was also 15th in pole bending.

Jessi James finished 11th in the team roping.
