With gratitude to the larger community, we joyfully announce that $9,300 was raised in the recent charity golf tournament at The Rim Golf Club for the benefit of the Mount Cross Lutheran Church building fund.

With a limited amount of golfers in our church family, but with a large number of non-golfers who came later in the afternoon, this is an amazing achievement.

We are indebted to many businesses and friends in this community, and outside the area, who helped make this event both successful and fun. First of all, the businesses and friends who sponsored the tees were paramount. They include A Better Connection, Alan Douglas for the Mount Cross Building Committee, CCBG Architects, Chapman Auto Center, Ross Hage for Edward Jones, Frazer, Ryan, Goldberg & Arnold Law Offices, Linda and Steve Loy, Leona and Ron Nelson, PostNet, Laree and Arch Rambeau, Reifschneider Enterprises, LP, Paul Meir for Thrivent and Marc Apps for United Country Realty.

In addition we were greatly aided by the wonderful set of prizes that were raffled and won by the skill of the golfers. They were provided by Mary and Dan Adams, Anytime Fitness, Ayothaya, Ben Brunner, Best Western Payson Inn, Beverage Place, Chili’s, Dominoes, El Rancho, Greg Grosser, Macky’s, Linda Grosser for Mary

Kay, Messinger’s, Kelly O’Neill, Overman Fine Jewelers, Paper and Metal Scrappers, Payson Athletic Club, Payson Rodeo, Payson Candle Factory, Payson Day Spa, Payson Jewelers, Payson Pizza Factory, Payson Roundup, Payson Wireless, Prudential AZ Realty, Donna and Rob Reifschneider, The Rim Golf Club, Sawmill Theatres, Scoops, Shear Oasis Salon and Verizon Wireless.

Lastly, and very importantly, we thank the cash donors and volunteers who helped at the event and beforehand, even to making cookies for hungry golfers. Chefs Gary and Diane Bedsworth, who did a marvelous Cooking for 2 and U demonstration for the non-golfers with food sponsored by Maddy and Sheldon Roth, Tyler Apps, who challenged golfers’ drives on Hole #14, Rene and Marc Apps, Karyl and Ed Blair, Jerry Carlson, Brenda and Bill Day, Jan and Dick Govig, Linda Grosser, Vicky Harris, Mary Kennedy, Jodi Lorenz, Alice Natale, Kelly O’Neill, Majel Potter, Shannon Romberger, Ellyn Ryd, June Schranz, Lynn and John Shoemaker, Bobbie and Bud Smith and Janice Zimbelman.

A huge thanks to all who participated.

Marc Apps and Rob Reifschneider, co-chairmen
