Shooting Victim Seeks Medical Help Day After Incident

A shooting that occurred on West Frontier Street Sunday was not reported to police until the victim showed up at the hospital a day later.

The man was reportedly shot once in the chest in the 300 block of West Frontier.

It wasn’t until noon Monday that the man sought medical treatment at Payson Regional Medical Center, at which time hospital staff reported the shooting to the Payson Police Department, said Chief Don Engler.

Police aren’t releasing the name of the victim or the alleged shooter.

Engler said it is unclear how the two Payson men knew each other.

“The victim is not real cooperative,” Engler said.

Police have made no arrests, but the investigation is ongoing.
