A Much-Needed Revival

As Christians, many of us have deep concerns for our nation, our community and for the eternity of millions of people. For our nation, I am convinced that there is no survival without revival. But as Dr. Greg Frizzell has said, “If genuine revival is to sweep our land, prayer and repentance must yet rise to higher levels.”

Throughout God’s Word, prayer and fasting were used to encourage God to bring revival. Here in Payson there will be a special opportunity and encouragement on July 24 and 25 for all Christians to pray for revival. Some will be praying, individually or with others, at their homes, jobs or churches. Others will be praying at Uptown Espresso, 612 N. Beeline Hwy., from sundown to sundown during those 24 hours. Fasting is certainly not required, but it has often been useful for people repenting of sin or seeking God’s blessings. Jesus Himself said that His followers “will fast.”

Join with other Rim Country Christians next Sunday and Monday to do what you can to bring real revival to our land. Fasting is encouraged unless it could cause medical problems. Uptown Espresso will be open for pray-ers from 7:30 to 10 p.m. on Sunday, July 24 and from 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on July 25. If you would be willing to lead a portion of that time, call 472-8178. Do what you can to bring much-needed real revival to our land.
