There’s a gold mine in Star Valley that few parents know about. It’s called Morgan’s Creek Montessori School for children ages 2 through 6. Montessori has long been known as a school a cut about the rest.
What they may not know is that this one in our own neighborhood is DES approved. That means that children who qualify will experience a classroom unlike any they’ve ever seen at a price they can afford.
Led by the accredited and highly capable owner/teacher, Ms Rhonda Shutz, (with 22 years of experience working in Montessori Schools), your children couldn’t be in more capable hands. As you enter, you’ll feel as though you’re in a quiet, loving, home environment, complete with several animals and a bird. No voices are raised and few arguments break out. Each tot is too busy experiencing hands-on learning-as-they-play. (Our 3-year-old has already mastered writing her numbers from 0 to 8 and, amazingly, another same-age boy is up to 60).
The school is run in a way that teaches children order instead of chaos, calm but tender firmness, a multitude of “toys that teach,” and a huge back yard with swings and slides, plus a vegetable/flower garden that they all can tend.
Each child may choose what he or she wishes to learn from day to day and they soon find that their Ms. Roni is close by to lend a helping hand.
Not only am I anxious to spread the word, but I also want to thank Ms. Roni for all she happily does to make our grandchildren’s lives a pure delight.
