Not The Time For New Regulations

With all the talk surrounding the debt ceiling and spending cuts, I fear that Congress is missing the point when it comes to our economy.

The single best answer to our problems is creating jobs. That is why I’m so puzzled as to why the Obama administration and the EPA are looking to establish new ozone regulations.

The ones instituted by the Bush administration were the most stringent ever imposed, and if the EPA lowers them even further, it will start to effect local Payson industries like agriculture, hospitals and even dry cleaning facilities. The result would be higher costs and loss of jobs.

I am hopeful that our president sees that now is not the time to impose these regulations, not when we need our economy to grow.
