VBS was enjoyed by all at Christopher Creek Bible Fellowship from July 11 to July 15. The theme was “Big Apple Times.” This is the 19th year that Tracy and Theresa Purtee have led the VBS. They had 35 children, plus 16 teenagers. Teenage leaders for 3-year-olds to first grade were Faith Konvalin and Taylor Armestead, with help from Cody Cronk, Becca Jones, Sabrina McGee and Kayla Quay. Leaders for second through sixth grade were Crista Kilbourne and Chris Vang with help from Kiarra Konvalin, Sterling Starr, Shea Morrow and Echo Helmick. Reed Wiles, Robert Jones and Hailey Davis were also helpers.
Tucker Kilbourne led the children in “Missions.” Theresa Purtee gave the Bible lessons to the second- through sixth-graders. Linda Hepworth taught the 3-year-olds through first-graders. Anne Kilbourne was in charge of games for the younger ones, while Tracy Purtee led games for the older group.
They all enjoyed crafts led by Lois Jones. Susan Hepworth was in charge of registration. Rita Quay and Eileen Kittock were in charge of refreshments. Many helped by bringing delicious cookies, brownies, etc. Music was led by Holly Brunner. She flew from Texas 8 months pregnant, expecting her third son. Pat Guevara helped all the children with their daily verses.
The children earned stickers and on the last day their stickers were counted and they purchased gifts at our VBS store with their stickers. Special thanks to Dewey Malmin, Bob Quay, Mary Bryan, Jeff Daniel and Dee Daniel.
