Apache National Forest Closed To Public

Due to extreme fire conditions, the Apache National Forest was closed to all public entry Friday.

This temporary emergency closure includes all of the Alpine, Clifton and Springerville Ranger Districts. The use of all campgrounds, day use picnic areas and trails in the forest are closed.

All National Forest System Roads will be closed, but property owners and their guests will continue to have access to private lands.

Officals will reopen the forest when sufficient precipitation is received to reduce extremely dry conditions and reduce the risk of wildfire to a manageable level.

The closure order and map are available at www.fs.fed.us/r3/asnf.
