Democrats precinct committee meeting

The Gila County Democratic Party Precinct Committee meeting is at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 11 at the Reno Creek Family Restaurant in Tonto Basin (formerly called Mama Lou’s). 

Those attending will order Dutch treat meals after the meeting.

Narcotic Anonymous

Women who think they may have a problem with drugs, give yourself a break. There is a way out, with the help of other recovering women addicts in Narcotics Anonymous. We have been there.

Overeaters Anonymous

Overeaters Anonymous meets from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays at the Rim Country Health & Retirement Community, 807 W. Longhorn Road, Payson. (After turning in driveway, turn right at first driveway. OA meets in the Community Room in the center of the facility’s apartment complex.)

Garden Tour kick-off

The Rim Area Gardeners meet the second Monday of each month at the Church of Christ, 401 E. Tyler Parkway.

This month, Monday, June 13, there will be a special Garden Tour Kick-off Potluck dinner from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Come and meet the owners of the gardens that will be featured on this year’s garden tour. Bring a dinner salad or dessert if possible. The public is invited.

Payson Raconteurs seeking new members

The Payson Raconteurs, a group of area writers, assemble at 6 p.m. every Monday in a private dining room in Tiny’s Restaurant. The members invite anyone with a passion to write stories, poetry, songs, etc. to join. Fun assignments are given that inspire creativity and participation is not required. Members read aloud their completed works and stories in progress.

This is a fun and relaxed group of writers. Come join the fun. No fees are required.

Manifesting Abundance Group

The Manifesting Abundance Group meets at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Payson Center for Spiritual Awareness, 107 W. Wade Lane.

The group will focus and intend for all sorts of abundance — physical and emotional well being, joy in relationships, true love and financial security. Join and learn how to create what you desire.

This group has no dues or elections. The Breakfast Bunch meets at 9 a.m. every Tuesday at Tiny’s Restaurant to visit and plan future activities like, bowling the first and third Monday at 10 a.m., the Elks Club 4 p.m. Sports Dinner the third Sunday of the month, plus excursions to Cliff Castle Casino in Camp Verde, movies, potlucks in members’ homes, picnics and fishing at Rim Lakes, beginning Pinochle, holiday events, the Concert Under the Stars series at Green Valley Park, joint activities with a Valley singles’ group, and Senior Circle luxury motor coach tours.

Randy Parraz, founder of Citizens for a Better Arizona, will be the guest speaker. He will be speaking about the Pearce recall efforts.

Woman’s Club issues invitation

The Payson Woman’s Club holds meetings at 1 p.m., the second Tuesday of each month. Prospective members are invited to attend. The next meeting is Tuesday, June 14.
